Birth Charts Meaningful Symbols and Glyphs

By: Jackson Swift

A birth chart has many uses. It is a moment in time reduced to a single chart. Your natal chart can be used for different purposes, depending on what you want to know. It makes use of various symbols and glyphs to make it easier for astrologers to condense into one single page. Planets and other celestial bodies considered when making an astrological chart are the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, Ceres, Jupiter, Chiron, Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, Earth, Neptune, and the Sun.

The place and the time of birth plays a big part on how astrologers calculate the birth chart. They look at the primary angles in the sky, which move with the earth, creating a birth chart with every passing moment. This is what makes a natal chart very unique and personal to an individual – no two charts can look alike, even if two individuals have the same date and time of birth. This is because the exact place will be considered while calculating the astrological chart.

There are two types of natal charts to choose fro. First is the geocentric natal chart, which places the earth at the centre of the wheel. However, there are some flaws to this method, as many astrologers argue that this makes no difference as you can place any planet in the middle of the chart. Most astrologers prefer the Heliocentric natal chart, as it places the Sun – one of the most important celestial bodies in astrology- at the centre of the wheel.
Relative positions of the houses are also important, as the will say which celestial bodies are placed within your birth chart. Other considerations such as the aspects will complete an astrology chart. They are the conjunction; opposition, square, trine, sextile, semi-square, and quincunx are the angles of the different celestial bodies should also be considered.

When you first see a natal chart, you may be confused. There are a lot of terms that are specific to a natal chart. If you want to fully understand what your horoscope chart means, then it would be best to understand these terms.
Most people do not even know what a natal horoscope is. It is made up of various mathematical calculations, based on the birth moment of an individual. They include the positions for various celestial bodies such as the moon, sun and eight planets. The natal horoscope also calculates the various sensitive points such as the ascendant, midlevel, and others.

A chart wheel is an important feature of the layout of a natal horoscope. It is a three hundred sixty degree picture of the heavens during the exact moment of your birth. The top of the chart is called the midlevel, which is directly above your head. The nadir o IC is at the bottom where your feet stand. Meanwhile, the left hand side of the wheel is the ascendant or rising sign, which is the rising zodiac of your birth moment. The descendant is on the opposite side of the ascendant, which is where the zodiac sets.

In an astrology chart, you can measure your planet position through the various degrees minutes and second of your time of birth. The line in your chart where a house begins is called a cusp. Meanwhile, glyphs in astrology are like a special language for astrologers. They symbolize different planets and zodiac signs in the natal chart report. Memorizing the glyphs will make it easier for you to read a horoscope chart report.
